Wylie Hall filly makes it two out of three
The latter, a member of her sire’s first crop, made it two wins from just three starts when winning over 1450m at Turffontein on Thursday afternoon.
Trained by Michael and Adam Azzie, the Lammerskraal Stud bred Wylie Wench showed her class when holding off recent G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas runner up Rio’s Winter to land a graduation plate by three-parts of a length.
Wylie Wench, ridden on Thursday by Raymond Danielson, had finished second on debut before going one better next time out and she looks a smart filly in the making.
The filly was the third top lot sold from the 2018 Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale, where she was knocked down for R600 000.
Winner of both the G1 SA Derby and G1 President’s Champions Challenge, Wylie Hall has made a very bright start to his stud career, with his early runners including G3 Protea Stakes/Storm Bird Stakes winner Twilight Moon, the very smart De La Cruz and the aforementioned Wylie Wench.
Wylie Hall, who shares his outstanding sire with such top class stallions as Snitzel, Not A Single Doubt and Stratum, has four yearlings entered for the 2020 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
