Once again we have exciting news about Wylie Hall‘s sire-line. Wylie Hall‘s sire Redoute’s Choice is undoubtedly one of the greatest active sires in the world – 19 of his sire sons have already produced stakes winners and eight of them have sired Gr1 winners.
We are told that we have the right type in Wylie Hall and he was also a versatile racehorse having been first past the post in 3 Gr1 races (1600m – 2450m). Wylie Hall stands at Cheveley Stud for a fee of R12,000 in 2017 (R2,000 nomination and R10,000 live foal).
Thoroughbred Racing Commentary’s website recently covered the meteoric rise of Not A Single Doubt (Redoute’s Choice) in the TRC Global Sires Rankings. In reading we came across a few more links to and appearances of stallions under our management. Here are the highlights:
- Not A Single Doubt (Redoute’s Choice) 5th place at 999 points
- Sea The Stars (sire of Quasillo) 989 (one of only two French based sires in the top 20)
- Redoute’s Choice (sire of Wylie Hall) 972
- Captain Al 965
- More Than Ready (sire of Gimmethegreenlight) 955
- Dynasty 953
Statistics are the only way we have of measuring and reporting excellence in our industry. After all, it’s not just about having one big winner – there has to be a spread. The TRC Global Rankings do a good job of taking a measure – and the spread between the very top and the next 50 is interesting to read. The gap between Redoute’s Choice at 972 points, Quasillo‘s sire Sea The Stars at 989, Captain Al at 965, Gimmethegreenlight’s sire More Than Ready at 955 and Dynasty at 953 tells an interesting story. It’s not just their total points that come into play, but the Impact Value – to understand more about this, see below.
