WYLIE Hall, the beautiful son of Redoute’s Choice who stands at Vaughan Koster’s Cheveley Stud near Ceres, already has 80 foals on the ground from the 96 mares covered in his first season. Koster is most impressed with what he has seen so far.
“Wylie Hall is producing very nice types,” Koster said on Wednesday. “He gives his foals depth in the chest, masculinity and good bone. They are nice, scopy individuals and what has been especially pleasing is that the first foals of mares he has covered are of a good size and substance.
“First foals can generally be small and light, but we’ve seen something different here and that is very encouraging. We’re hoping they will grow into top class yearlings.”
Koster said that Wylie Hall has enjoyed good support from breeders across the board, and that he’d covered 90 mares in his second season.
Wylie Hall’s six career wins included both the Gr1 President’s Champions Challenge and the classic Gr1 SA Derby. He is a son of triple Australian Champion Sire Redoute’s Choice, sire of no fewer than 28 Gr1 winners, and counting!
Wylie Hall also won the 2014 Gr1 Durban July but was relegated to second after a controversial objection.
