RAMSDEN ON WINNING TRAIL IN LANGERMAN

There was an exciting finish to the Betting World Langerman (Gr 3) over
1500m at Kenilworth today, with Ivory Trail lasting long enough to claim the
honours and provide another feature winner for trainer Joey Ramsden.
Gin Sling was the early leader, but he was relegated by topweight Golden
Riviera who eventually pulled himself to the front with Ivory Trail settling
in third place. Casey's Son was next best with favourite Captain's Knock
giving about four lengths' start. Blue Tiger tracked him along the rail
ahead of Bucked Off and Lostintranslation with Finn Maccool and Russian Glen
at the rear. |

| Golden Riviera brought them in for home with Gin Sling quick to challenge,
but these two both came under pressure as Ivory Trail made a forward move
and Captain's Knock was asked for his effort. Blue Tiger, meanwhile was
gradually starting to wind up for his effort. Ivory Trail had struck the front passing the 200m mark, but Blue Tiger, who
had been working up a head of steam, took off late, as did Casey's Son. It
became a case of whether the line would come in time for Ivory Trail and he
stuck gamely to his guns to secure victory with Casey's Son shading Blue for
second place. |

Ivory Trail looks the sort who should progress even further from here as he
kept finding more under pressure, while Casey's Son seems to have the
makings of a good miler and may be happier over even further than that. Blue
Tiger was far from disgraced as he had to contend with 59,5kg and this was a
good effort as he was conceding 7kg to the winner and was beaten less than
half a length. He is now due a win and his turn should not be long in
coming.
Ivory Trail is a 2-year-old colt by Badger's Drift out of Hunter's Glen
(Complete Warrior). He was bred by Cheveley Stud and is owned by Miss N & Mr
W J C Mitchell. |
